IBANs Now Required for Many International Wires

Effective January 1, 2007, 30 countries require the use of an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for wire transfers.  These countries are:

Belgium	Hungary	Poland
Cyprus	Iceland	Portugal
Czech Republic	Ireland	Slovak Republic
Denmark	Italy	Slovenia
Estonia	Latvia	Spain
Finland	Lithuania	Sweden
France	Luxembourg	Switzerland
Germany	Malta	United Kingdom

If you expect to be wiring funds to any of the countries listed above, please note that a specific IBAN is now required to process the wire order.  The IBAN is a combination of country, financial institution and account number information.  The number of characters contained in an IBAN will vary by country.

We have been advised that wires without this important number will be returned.  Returned wires may be subject to loss of funds due to exchange rate variations and fees charged by the receiving institution.

Please contact your foreign financial institution to be certain of the IBAN number of your (or your beneficiary’s) account there.  Because of privacy regulations, RTN will not be able to get an IBAN for you.  In this situation we must rely on our members to present complete and accurate IBAN information.

•  ATM/VISA Check Card Purchases...Use your ATM or VISA Check Card for purchases when shopping at thousands of merchants. Simply sign for the transaction when using your VISA Check card or input your PIN code when using either the ATM or VISA Check Card. There are no fees for this service.

•  Use your ATM/VISA Check Card for "Cash Back" ...Ask for “cash back” at any VISA/MasterCard merchant offering this service when making a purchase. RTN Federal Credit Union does not charge for this benefit.

•  Avoid ATM Surcharges...If the ATM participates in the SUM℠ Program or MoneyPass network, you will not pay a surcharge for using the ATM. Many BankNewport, Peoples Credit Union, and Citizens Bank locations participate in the SUM program. Click here to search for other SUM Program or MoneyPass ATMs.

•  Automatic Account Transfers...between your checking, savings and money market accounts simplifies your life.

•  Automatic Loan Payments...to all your RTN FCU loans, as well as payments to other lenders.

•  Free Online Banking...monitor and control your finances 24 hours per day, every day of the week. 

•  Free Bill Payer...when you sign up for the Performance Package or the Infinity Club. 

•  ATM Deposits...Deposit funds in your RTN FCU Checking or Main Share account at any ATM participating in the NYCE Shared Deposit or MoneyPass deposit programs. Click here to find an ATM near you or near where you are going. There is no charge for this benefit.

•  Nationwide Branches...All Credit Union members, including non-Raytheon employees and company retirees, may conduct core business (deposits, cash withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, etc.) via a teller at any Credit Union participating in the CU Service Center network. In Rhode Island, Community & Teachers FCU and Wave FCU participate in this network. There is no charge for core transactions, however, modest fees may apply for other services (money orders, official check withdrawal, travelers checks, 11 or more deposited checks, etc.)

•  Check Withdrawal...Need a check withdrawal from your account? Log onto your account via Telephone Banking (1-800-338-0221) to request a check, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  

How to avoid or minimize ATM fees charged by the Credit Union

• Use an RTN Federal Credit Union ATM (if available) — all transactions are free

• When using a non-RTN FCU ATM, limit your transactions to cash withdrawals and deposits as fees may apply. (See next bullet.)

• Use the Credit Union's online banking and/or telephone banking systems for balance inquiries, funds transfers, etc. There is no charge for this service.

• Sign up for the Infinity Club for fee-free ATM transactions if you are age 50 or older (see “ATM surcharges” section)

• Sign up for the Performance Package for five fee-free ATM transactions from checking each month (see “ATM surcharges” section above)
