RTN’s Credit Union Service & Community Involvement

What makes credit unions different from other financial institutions?

We have a social mission, and credit union community service is as important as anything else we do in business.

Our structure and purpose as a nonprofit financial cooperative means we exist to help our members manage and improve their financial lives. And, as a credit union, community involvement is a core value of RTN. We support local community projects and initiatives, and work collaboratively with members, sponsor groups and our surrounding communities through financial support and volunteer participation.

This is the very essence of the Credit Union difference and the philosophy of “people helping people.”

Helping Homeless Teens and Families: A central focus of RTN’s fundraising and community efforts, RTN sponsors and supports initiatives to help homeless teens and families including our signature annual fundraiser, RTN Walk Home.

People Helping People: RTN employees assist local organizations, charities and individuals through RTN Employees Community Outreach. RTN’s Annual Burley Scholarship provides funds to help three deserving students pursue a college education.

Commitment to our Local Communities—Local Community Events: RTN proudly supports a wide range of non-profit organizations, special events and local activities in the communities we serve throughout the year, and especially when there is an emergency.

segOur Cooperative Partnerships—Select Employee Group (SEG) Community Events: RTN works collaboratively with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) to help bring the benefits of the Credit Union to their employees and staff, and actively supports many of their fundraising activities.

peoplehelpingpeopleThe Credit Union Way—Cooperative Credit Union Association Drives: RTN is an active participant in Cooperative Credit Union Association drives and community efforts throughout the year.
