Congratulations to the 2020 James A. Burley, Jr. Scholarship Contest winners!

We are proud to announce this year’s Burley Scholarship winners! The first-place prize of $5,000 went to Rachael Stokes, who will be attending Keene State College. Caroline Joncas, a student at University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, received the second-place prize of $3,000 and Lily Shaughnessy, who will attend Quinnipiac University, earned the third-place prize of $2,000.

Each year RTN awards three scholarships totaling $10,000 to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or post high school technical college. The contest honors James A. Burley, Jr., who served as Chairman of RTN’s Board of Directors for more than 30 years. This contest is open only to RTN members or their dependents.

Winners are selected based on a thematic-based essay. This year’s topic was “What would you put in a time capsule to represent your life during the coronavirus pandemic?”

Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest. We wish all our applicants well in their academic careers.
