For more than fifty years, Charlie Anastasia gave generously of his time and energy to help build, sustain, and grow RTN Federal Credit Union.
Charlie demonstrated unwavering dedication to serving RTN members. Throughout all the changes and technological advances of the past half century, Charlie maintained a steady focus on the Credit Union’s core mission of providing financial products and services that help our hard-working members.
When he passed away on December 5 at the age of 94, our Credit Union lost one of its founders and a long-time Board member and officer. I lost a friend and mentor.
As a labor relations specialist at Raytheon, Charlie had a long and distinguished professional career.
During his work life and after he retired, Charlie served various roles on the RTN Board of Directors and was first vice chairman for many years. In 2013, he was named Director Emeritus in recognition of more than fifty years of exemplary service on behalf of the Credit Union.
These accomplishments speak for themselves. I want to add my profound gratitude to Charlie for his constant guidance and insight. He truly embodied the credit union spirit of people helping people. He was instrumental in creating a culture of service and respect for our members that prevails today.
We send our condolences to his loving wife of 69 years, Josephine; two daughters, Katherine and Janet; one grandson; seven siblings (one predeceased); and many nieces and nephews.
