If you’re like many parents of high school seniors, you’re probably scrambling to seek out as much “free” college tuition as possible. Here’s another option: RTN is accepting applications for a scholarship essay contest offered annually through the Cooperative Credit Union Association (formerly, the Massachusetts Credit Union League). The deadline to enter is Friday, February 26.
The contest is open to high school seniors who will be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program during the 2016–2017 academic year. Six $1,500 prizes will be awarded.
We will sponsor entries from students who are RTN members in good standing or have a parent or guardian who is a member in good standing. The top entries will be sent to the Association for judging.
Applicants must write and submit an essay in 250 words or fewer, describing a person (or event) that inspired them and how it changed their outlook on life. They also must submit their academic transcripts. Click here for the rules and application.
