Effective Saturday, May 29, RTN will be following guidelines from the Massachusetts Department of Health and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ updating of its mask-wearing requirements for fully vaccinated individuals.
This means our members who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to come into our branches without a mask. We will be relying on our members to follow proper protocol. As we balance compliance with guidelines and people’s right to privacy, we appreciate your responsible and respectful cooperation with this revised policy.
If you meet with an RTN employee who is not wearing a mask, please be aware that they have shown proof of full vaccination. Keep in mind, however, that employees who have been fully vaccinated may choose to wear a mask or face covering. Employees who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear a face covering.
We are making this change based on direction provided by the Massachusetts Public Health as well as information from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The state’s position is that “Non-vaccinated individuals are advised to continue wearing face masks and to continue distancing in most settings.”
The state of emergency in Massachusetts will end effective June 15, 2021. Until that date, we will continue to buzz members into branches and if you are wearing a face covering you be asked to lower it briefly at the door for security and identification purposes.
