Although the calendar may tell us it’s almost September, summer is still in full swing with fun activities in the community and for employees of our member organizations.
August 25 will mark the fifth time this summer we’ve hosted events at LeLacheur Park, home of the Lowell Spinners, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. On that evening, nine lucky kids from Lawrence CommunityWorks will be designated as “Baseball Buddies” during Kids Take the Field Night, and have the chance to see what it’s like to be a professional baseball player. Earlier this month, we sponsored the same event for members who entered their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in a drawing for the prized tickets. The kids were thrilled by the experience. They hung out in the dugout, had their baseballs autographed and ran alongside the players as they took their positions. They had a blast and we’re sure we’ll see the same excitement from the kids on the 25th.
Ice cream will abound when we host Ice Cream Socials for employees of Lawrence General Hospital and Benjamin Healthcare Center, two of a number of sweet-treat happenings we hosted this summer at our employer groups.
If you can’t tell by now, we are happy to serve those in the community and appreciate our partnerships in the business community. These are just some of the ways we show it.
