College students seeking scholarship money have until May 22 to submit their entries to the annual James A. Burley, Jr. Scholarship Contest. Named after former chairman and director James A. Burley, Jr., who served the Credit Union for more than three decades, the contest awards three scholarships to students who are RTN members or their dependents as of April 1, 2020, and will be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or post-high school technical college in the fall of 2020.
The prizes include:
• First place: $5,000
• Second place: $3,000
• Third place: $2,000
Applicants must complete an entry form and write an essay on the theme: What would you put in a time capsule to represent your life during the coronavirus pandemic?
Essays should be double-spaced, typewritten on an 8½” by 11″ page with a strict length of from 150 to 250 words. Application and entry form must be received via email before 4:00 pm on May 22, 2020 at Scholarship@rtn.org.
Applications and essays sent by any other methods will be disqualified
