RTN recently joined forces with the Iota-Theta Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity at Bentley University to organize a winter clothing drive for Community Day Center in Waltham.

On November 8, RTN staff delivered several bags of hats, sweaters, shirts, pants, and socks to the Community Day Center. This non-profit organization provides day services for the homeless and people in need in Waltham, and is an RTN Select Employee Group (SEG).

Simon Levenson, a junior at Bentley who is currently a Business Development Intern at RTN and serves as Sergeant at Arms of the Fraternity, helped organized the clothing drive. “It’s great to be able to give back to a great cause in the local community through a combination of my student involvement with my Fraternity Brothers and RTN, the internship workplace that I love,” says Simon.

Here’s Executive Director Carolyn Montalto’s thank you: “On behalf of our board of directors and especially of our guests at the Day Center, thank you very much for your generous donation of clothing. So many of our guests at the Day Center tell us that they wish to ‘feel normal…even if it’s for just a day.’

When we give our guests the clothing they need, whether it’s brand new or slightly used, they feel joy, pride, and deep gratitude. As someone working in direct care with the homeless, to be able to experience those emotions is a gift…your generosity is a gift to staff, volunteers and guests, all at once!”
