RTN Employees Get Backpacks and School Supplies to Students in Need

Thanks to the volunteer efforts of our staff, and the generosity of Costco in Waltham and Intersystems in Cambridge, 400 backpacks and mounds of school supplies were collected through the recent RTN Employees Community Outreach Backpack Drive

We are proud to report that we distributed more than 300 backpacks, and have a supply of backpacks to distribute during the school year.

Each of the following Waltham schools and organizations got twenty backpacks filled with school supplies:

  • Northeast Elementary School
  • Plympton Elementary School
  • Stanley Elementary School
  • McArthur Elementary School
  • Joseph Smith Community Health Center

We donated 100 backpacks to the Department of Children & Families in the North Shore area. In addition, the staff of the Danvers branch filled and donated an additional 12 backpacks.

In Tewksbury, 66 backpacks and school supplies were collected and donated to Project Wish.

Kudos to Paul Devoe, Robin Hartnett, and all the RTN staff volunteers who gave their time and effort to make this year’s RTN Employees Community Outreach Backpack drive such a success.
