Students Get it Write! Essay Contest for 7th and 8th graders.

Does your seventh or eighth grade student like to write?  If so, let your child know about this essay contest.  Just by putting pen to paper, he or she could win $500!

RTN is participating in an essay contest sponsored by the Mass. Credit Union League and the Mass. Credit Union Share Insurance Corp.  Through our participation, seventh and eighth grade students whose parents or guardians are RTN members in good standing are eligible to enter.

Tell us in 250 words or less “What is the most important lesson credit unions can teach young people about managing their financial lives that will help them when they grow into adults?”  Essays must be handwritten by the student.

The prizes?
First prize:  $500
Finalists:     $250
Honorable mentions:  $50
The winners will be honored at a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House next spring.

Students must be residents of Massachusetts and schools must be located in Massachusetts.

Essays need to be received by RTN by Friday, December 19, 2014, and we will send the top entries we receive to the Mass. Credit Union League for judging.  The winners will be announced in April of 2015.

Entries can be mailed or dropped off at our Brookline  branch, 365 Boylston Street, Brookline, MA  02445.  Make sure you write “Essay Contest” on the envelope.
