Students Get it Write!

If your seventh or eighth grader likes to write, he or she could win $500 just by putting pen to paper. Through RTN’s participation in the Cooperative Credit Union Association, Inc.’s essay contest for seventh and eighth grade students, kids who are dependents of RTN members in good standing can enter the contest and the chance to win money!

Students are asked to write by hand an essay, no more than 250 words, on the theme:

What could you teach an adult to form better savings and spending habits?  Please provide practical advice to adopt sound plans and to avoid poor behavior?

The contest is open only to students currently in seventh and eighth grades who are Massachusetts residents and attend a school in Massachusetts.  Only one essay per child will be accepted.

One first-prize winner will receive $500; seven finalists will receive $250 each and ten honorable mention winners will receive $50 a piece.

All essays must be received at RTN by Friday, December 23, 2016.  They can be mailed or dropped off at:
