The Treat that Helps the Homeless — Hope Candy Bar Drive 2014

Here’s a winning recipe—enjoy delicious chocolate and donate funds to help the homeless.

When you come into an RTN branch during the next few weeks, you can donate funds to the homeless when you purchase a tasty bar of chocolate. RTN is participating in the Massachusetts Credit Union League’s 2014 Community Hope Initiative Candy Drive and is selling candy bars at RTN branches. Proceeds will benefit the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless (MCH).

Thanks to the enthusiastic involvement of RTN members and staff, RTN has become the program’s biggest participant. Last fall, we sold 80 boxes of chocolate, or 1,920 candy bars.

The candy bars come in a variety of flavors and cost $2 each. They are available at RTN’s main branch in Waltham; community branches in Amesbury, Brookline, Danvers, Dorchester Lower Mills, Lawrence, Marlborough, and Tewksbury; and workplace branches in Andover, Needham, and Taunton. Credit unions across the state are participating in this fundraiser as part of the Credit Union Community Hope Initiative.

Stop in to an RTN branch and enjoy this easy way to treat yourself while helping others when you come into one of our branches. It’s a great way to raise funds for the homeless and support our social mission based on the credit union philosophy of people helping people.
