Money Management Resources
RTN is here to help members adjust their financial strategy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
RTN Financial and Retirement Group
The RTN Financial & Retirement Group, led by Financial Advisors Douglas Stocklan and Christine Belair, CFP®, continue to be available for financial planning and investment management advice during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Doug and Christine are meeting with clients via phone appointments, WebEx video conferences and driveway appointments for paperwork processing utilizing personal protective equipment and social distancing.
Credit Counseling Resources
RTN has partnerships with two non-profit credit counseling agencies that offer resources for members who are facing increased financial stress due to COVID-19.
- American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC): 800-769-3571 or https://www.consumercredit.com
- Money Management International: 866-515-2227 or https://www.moneymanagement.org
Both agencies work with individuals to develop an action plan for improving their budget and credit situation. Counselors from each will take the time to review options that are available based on the clients’ situation and make a recommendation as to what they feel would be the best option.
Both agencies have programs called Debt Management Plans, which are repayment plans where the agency works as an intermediary between the client and their creditors to negotiate full repayment at better terms over time. There may be fees associated with the DMP program, but there are none for the counseling and reviewing options.
Since in-person appointments are not possible during the pandemic, both agencies offer phone appointments whenever convenient for the clients.
