New Online Banking Security Feature
Protecting your account is always our priority, and we make every effort to ensure the security of your personal information. To further safeguard your accounts, on August 7, 2018, we introduced a new security feature in RTN Online Banking. This additional layer of identity verification replaces the security questions members have established.
With the use of this new feature, you will receive a text or voice message with a verification code whenever you make a large transaction, change your personal information or log into Online Banking from an unfamiliar device. You will be asked to enter this code when you sign into Online Banking. The new identity verification feature applies to our Online Banking service only.
Setting up this feature is simple. The first time you log into Online Banking after August 7, you’ll see a screen titled “Set Up Phone for Identity Verification” where you select the phone number on which you would like to receive notifications and whether you prefer to receive notifications by text or voice. Please note: if you choose to receive notifications on a landline phone, you will need to select the voice option.
After reading the terms and conditions and clicking the save button, you will receive two texts or voice messages notifying you of a four-digit code to enter to verify your phone number along with a confirmation of your activation of this service.
