Supporting our Local Communities on Giving Tuesday 2023

Supporting our local communities is part of our social mission as a Credit Union every day. On Giving Tuesday, the Foundation made donations of $750 to several non-profit organizations in communities where our Credit Union has local branches.

Here’s a summary of our support for grassroots organizations that make the world a better place and brighten the holiday season for folks in our own backyard.

Africano Waltham
Africano Waltham, part of Healthy Waltham, serves youth and families from Africa, primarily from Uganda, who have emigrated to the U.S. and live in Waltham. Our donation of $750 was given as thirty $25 Market Basket gift cards to support Healthy Waltham’s year-end holiday drives and will help new immigrants and local Africano members who have an urgent need for holiday gift cards.

Essex County Community Foundation’s Greater Lawrence Summer Fund
The Foundation’s $750 donation supports ECCF’s Greater Lawrence Summer Fund. During this past summer, this program enabled 4,500 children in Lawrence to participate in 44 summer enrichment programs.

Latinos en Accion, Waltham
Latinos en Acción de Waltham is a non-profit organization devoted to the development and advancement of the Latin American community in the City of Waltham. Our donation of $750 was given as thirty $25 Market Basket gift cards for individuals in need this holiday season.

Veterans Inc., Worcester
The Foundation donated $750 to the general fund of Veterans Inc., which is a national leader in ending homelessness among veterans. Veterans, Inc. is the largest provider of support services to veterans and their families in New England.

Thanks to our golfers and sponsors for being part of the 2023 RTN GoodWorks Foundation Golf event on September 18.

With your generosity and participation, we raised more than $16,500 to fund the Foundation’s charitable activities to support our surrounding communities and foster financial wellness.

A special thanks to those of you who braved the rain and enjoyed a memorable event.
